Today you had your 18 month well visit. I found out that it is required for you to have blood work done to test your cholesterol levels, check for anemia and a few other things. So, we'll have to schedule an appointment for you to have that done in the upcoming weeks. You were weighed and they checked your height. You weigh 22 lbs and you're 31.5 inches (50 percentile for height and 25 percentile for weight). The nurse was asking if you say words, how you are eating, if you are running and if you are dancing to music when it is played and such (of course yes to all). After the nurse was finished and she was leaving you said bye-bye to her. You were so excited for her to leave, I think you thought she was done. I told you that the doctor was going to come in next to check you out. You tilted your head down, looked up with your eyes and just said "Noooo." You were so cute when you said that, but I felt so bad. I know that you don't like going to the doctors. When Dr. Fortin came in, you were so upset. He checked your breathing with a stethoscope on your belly and your back (you were crying the entire time). He checked your legs and shoulders as well as your eyes. He also checked your ears, and it was quite possibly the most horrible experience with an ear check yet. You were screaming and crying so hard. You were crying so hard that it was becoming silent and so much blood was rushing to your face that you broke blood vessels along your jaw line and down your chin. I think having your ears checked has become increasingly more traumatizing for you. You obviously cry when you see the doctor, but once he starts getting near you and touching you, you get upset and cry. But, getting your ears checked seems to really hurt you as well. You are currently taking antibiotics again, same as before. You will have a check-up in 2 weeks to see if the infection went away, if not, you will be seeing an ENT again.
